    In short

    • The Aquarium is open every day of the year from 10:00. It closes at 19:00 from Monday to Friday and at 20:00 on Saturday and Sunday, and the last entry is one hour before closing. Plan at least 2 hours.
    • The heart of the visit is the Oceanarium, a tank of 4.5 million litres that you cross through a transparent tunnel more than 80 metres long. Around it are Mediterranean and tropical tanks, a penguin habitat and a room with 360-degree projections, in all about 11,000 animals of around 600 species.
    • Pets are not allowed, and you may not feed the animals. All the facilities are accessible to visitors with disabilities. Lockers are available in the entrance hall.
    • Short on time? Choose the entry ticket. Not sure about your day? Choose the flexible ticket, which has no entry time. Visiting the zoo too? Look at the zoo and aquarium pass.

    The shark tunnel

The Oceanarium is a tank 36 metres wide, holding 4.5 million litres of salt water. A transparent tunnel more than 80 metres long runs through it, so the fish swim above and around you. Among the animals in the tank are sand tiger sharks, sandbar sharks, moray eels and rays.

Penguins and jellyfish in Planeta Aqua

Pale jellyfish with trailing tentacles drifting in a dark round tank

Planeta Aqua is the area for animals that surprise you. The Humboldt penguins have a panoramic tank 17 metres long. The jellyfish drift inside a life-size model of a sperm whale, and an open tank lets you watch the rays up close.

    The Mediterranean and the tropics

Nineteen tanks are devoted to the Mediterranean, from the Ebro Delta to the Medes Islands. Ten more show the warm seas: the Red Sea, the Caribbean and the Great Barrier Reef. Upstairs, the aquascaping tanks are small underwater gardens where plants are the stars.
